Google Meet Updates
Google is releasing many updates over the next six months to support safety and student engagement with their tools.
Google Meet now has a new feature called End Meeting for Everyone. When a teacher/host leaves a meeting, they will be prompted to either "Just Leave the Call" or "End the Call." When our teachers end their class meetings, they will choose "End the Call" which will end it for everyone. The next time your student looks to join their class meet, they will experience one or two screens.
When Students join a Google Meet from Google Classroom and the teacher has NOT started the Meet, they will see a screen stating they cannot create a meeting. The students will have to press the Reload button until they are prompted to join.
When Students join a Google Meet from Classroom, the teacher has started the Meet, but Quick Access is turned off, they will see a screen with the "Ready to join?" prompt. Students will click the Ask to join button and the teacher will the student into the meeting.

Change a site's camera & microphone permissions
Open Chrome .
At the top right, click More Settings.
Under "Privacy and security," click Site settings.
Click Camera or Microphone.
Turn on or off Ask before accessing.
Review your blocked and allowed sites.
To remove an existing exception or permission: To the right of the site, click Delete .
To allow a site that you already blocked: Under "Blocked," select the site's name and change the camera or microphone permission to "Allow."
When you first access a service that requires a microphone, (Talk & Type), a white box panel that will appear at the top left that will give permission for the service to access your microphone. If you don't do that, log out of her chromebook, log back in, and try again.
If that doesn't work, reset the Chrome settings to default.
On your Chromebook, open Chrome browser.
At the top right, click More -->Settings.
At the bottom, click Advanced.
Under "Reset Settings," click Restore settings to their original defaults Reset Settings.
If neither of these solutions work, submit a ticket at help.frsu38.org stating the chromebook microphone is not working and needs repair.
